At Yogamatique we understand that it can be hard to find the right work out, the right yoga practice or the right form of exercise that fits exactly you. So we make our yoga classes accessible to all. Teaching from the ground up, our first focus is to get you breathing. That in itself is a good first step in self-care. And along with the breath, the moves follow.
Others may say - yoga is for everyone - and then you go to class and are expected to form a pretzel shape with your body! Or perhaps the teacher turned on the heat so much, that you feel like you might pass out! At Yogamatique we don't believe in stressing the body in unhealthy ways. There's a lot you can get out of a yoga practice by being true to the fundamentals and why not enjoy yourself at the same time!
Yes, you will get to work on your meditative practice while moving through the poses. But that does not mean you won't get to have a good laugh or be amused from time to time. Hey, that is still staying in the present and being mindful.
And when the time comes, you will experience growth and will be able to challenge yourself. Not only to get stronger and more flexible. But also in your self-awareness and grounding. Yoga is a life long journey. With the passing of a few years, or even a few months, you will find that you are not where you started. That's called growth. Whether physical, mental or spiritual.
